Update of Kyrgyz National H-index Ranking: Q4 2025

The NHR international ranking conducts a comparative analysis of the scientific productivity of universities, scientific organisations and individual researchers. The National H-index Ranking has published updated figures for the fourth quarter of 2025. In this article, we will look at which educational and scientific institutions in Kyrgyzstan have demonstrated the highest results, as well as track changes in their scientometrics indicators in dynamics compared to the previous reporting period.

The National H-index Ranking is an independent international ranking that assesses the scientific performance of institutions, scientific organisations and individual scientists within a country. The key indicator used to determine the position of participants is the Hirsch index (h-index).

Kyrgyz National H-index Ranking

The Kyrgyz National H-index Ranking analyses the scientific productivity of researchers, scientific teams, institutions, and organisations in Kyrgyzstan based on data from international scientometrics systems, including Web of Science (WoS), Google Scholar and Scopus.

The ranking motivates scientists to engage in more active research, contributes to strengthening their professional authority and stimulates the development of the institutions where they work. This opens up broader opportunities for international scientific cooperation and further progress. The formation and further development of this ranking is important for the scientific community of Kyrgyzstan, as it allows them to present their achievements on the world scientific arena.

How have the performance indicators of Kyrgyz scientific institutions and universities changed? 

Compared to the results for the second quarter of 2025, almost all organisations that made it into the top 10 in the fourth quarter of 2025 showed an increase in the Hirsch index. It is worth noting that some of them also improved their positions in the overall ranking.

Improving one's position in the National H-index Ranking is only possible by increasing one's h-index. This is possible by publishing research that is scientifically novel, relevant and of interest to the research community, as it is the number of citations that determines the value of the Hirsch index. It is recommended to focus on publications in high-quality, authoritative journals with high scientometrics indicators – impact factor, quartile, percentile, etc. In the long term, growth in international rankings helps to attract investment, support young scientists, expand cooperation with leading researchers around the world, and increase the competitiveness of educational institutions in the eyes of potential students.
