The National H-index Ranking recently presented updated data for the fourth quarter of 2025. In this article, we will analyse which Kyrgyz higher education institutions made it into the top 10.
The ranking is revised twice a year and is based on the Hirsch index (h-index), calculated using information from the Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar databases. In the previous article, we looked at the leading scientific organisations in Kyrgyzstan – institutes, agencies, and universities. In this publication, we will focus exclusively on higher education institutions.

To compile the ranking, the activities of 45 higher education institutions were analysed and evaluated.
High positions in international scientific rankings open up new opportunities for universities: they simplify the process of attracting funding, contribute to the development of the scientific environment, help establish cooperation with renowned scientists from abroad and make the institution more attractive to future students.
