Particular emphasis was placed on changes in legislation and new requirements for scientific publications, which directly affect the defence of dissertations, the awarding of academic degrees, and the academic development of researchers. The updated regulations strengthen the role of international scientometric databases, such as Scopus and Web of Science, and make publication activity a key criterion for an academic career.
