Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K. I. Skryabin
The Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K. I. Skryabin is one of the leading higher education institutions in Kyrgyzstan. Its history dates back to 1933, when a Zootechnical and Veterinary Institute was established to train specialists in the agricultural sector. The creation of the institution was driven by the need to develop the agrarian sector during a period of significant economic transformation.
Over time, the institute underwent active development, with the establishment of faculties of agronomy, hydromelioration, engineering, and economics. As a result, it was renamed the Kyrgyz Agricultural Institute.
Throughout its history, the university has trained tens of thousands of specialists for the agro-industrial complex, including the renowned writer Chyngyz Aitmatov, as well as state officials, scientists, and academicians. In 2009, the institution was granted national status, and today it remains one of the key educational and research centres in Kyrgyzstan in the field of agricultural education and science.
