Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov is a state higher education institution of Kyrgyzstan, began its history in 1953, when due to the shortage of highly qualified specialists in the engineering industry of the country, a technical faculty was founded at the Kyrgyz State University. On 1 September 1954, it was reorganised into the Frunze Polytechnic Institute, which was an important step in the development of Kyrgyzstan's educational system. At that time, the university consisted of two faculties: mining engineering and construction and energy. Now the university includes such structural subdivisions: 10 institutes, 3 higher schools and 4 branches.
The mission of the University is to improve and develop high quality technical education based on the achievements of science, engineering and technology, as well as integration into the global educational space, aimed at the innovative development of the Kyrgyz Republic. This is achieved through the introduction of competitive educational programmes that meet the needs of the labour market, society, economy and the state.
