At the end of last year, Scopus updated its search system to support our scientific community. Now, you have the ability to find the most relevant authors for you using keywords. Let's explore the details of this update and explain how it operates.
The search is conducted based on documents, but you do not review the documents themselves; instead, you directly find the researchers who created them. The search results also include parameters and filters that help narrow down the list of results.
Researcher Discovery allows you to search for researchers in a specific field quickly using keywords. Keywords are matched with the title, abstract, and journal name of articles from over 16 million authors in the Scopus database.
Using Researcher Discovery is simple and straightforward.
1. To begin, click on "Researcher Discovery" in the menu.
2.Enter keywords/terms to quickly find researchers in a particular field.
3. Refine the results using the "Filter Settings" menu.
Refinement options include:
- Publication time period
- Country
- Organization
4. Open the "Sort by" menu to choose sorting criteria.
5. Select "profile preview" for the desired author to open the author's profile preview panel.
Thus, you have acquainted yourself with what can be called a revolutionary update in Scopus. As mentioned earlier, this allows you to identify relevant author profiles to establish connections, identify potential collaborators, find authors for consultation or advice, and direct efforts toward building a network.
Next week, we plan to publish the latest updates regarding journals excluded from Scopus, so stay with us.
